The 2024/25 Greater Dandenong Business Awards Program is open for registration.

To be eligible, businesses must demonstrate tangible economic or community benefits to the Greater Dandenong Council Region, such as local operations, employment, supplier engagement, or community support. A registered business address within the council area is not required. There is no charge for entry.

Innovation, Environmental & Sustainability Award      

Eligibility: Businesses demonstrating significant innovation and commitment to sustainability.

Judging Criteria:

1. Research and development efforts.
2. Sustainable and cost-effective innovations.
3. Commercial relevance and industry impact.
4. Contribution to industry standards or practices.
5. Creativity in adapting or breaking traditional processes.
6. Measurable environmental benefits.

Community Impact Award 

Eligibility: Not-for-profit organizations or social enterprises making outstanding community contributions.

Judging Criteria:

1. Alignment of organizational goals with community needs.
2. Measurable social, cultural, or economic impact.
3. Innovative approaches for client and community benefit.
4. Governance and strategy for sustainable growth.
5. Contributions to Greater Dandenong’s well-being.

Small Business Award 

Eligibility: Businesses with 4 employees or less and an annual turnover of less than $1M operating from home.

Judging Criteria:

1. Growth strategies and evidence of business resilience.
2. Specific actions implemented to achieve success.
3. Innovative approaches to overcoming challenges.
4. Customer focus and engagement strategies.
5. Contributions to the local community or economy.

Hospitality, Tourism & Wellbeing Award 

Eligibility: Businesses in the hospitality, tourism, or leisure industries.

Judging Criteria:

1. Customer experience and welcoming strategies.
2. Milestone achievements and industry contribution.
3. Marketing and customer attraction methods.
4. Efforts in sustainability and cultural relevance.
5. Facilities and services enhancing customer satisfaction.

Transport/Logistics Business Award

Eligibility: Businesses in the transport and logistics sector adapting to customer demands and advancing technology.

Judging Criteria:

1. Understanding and meeting customer needs.
2. Adoption of innovative practices and technologies.
3. Seamless customer experience delivery.
4. Evidence of operational efficiency and scalability.
5. Contributions to the regional logistics industry.

Manufacturing Business Award 

Eligibility: Businesses leading innovation and excellence in manufacturing.

Judging Criteria:

1. Focus on customer needs and satisfaction.
2. Continuous improvement strategies.
3. Investment in training and workforce development.
4. Safety performance and operational excellence.
5. Application of lean and sustainable practices.

The winners of each category will be eligible for the overall Business Excellence Award sponsored by National Australia Bank
